    SC Safe Home grant

    Up to $7,500

    For a roof retrofit that meets both SC Safe Home and IBHS FORTIFIED Roof standards. Households at or above 80% of area median income qualify for a $6,000 matching grant.

    Mitigation credits

    State law requires coastal rating plans to include credits for wind-resistant construction. Amounts vary by carrier, and insurers must disclose them at every renewal.

    State tax credits

    $1,000 + $1,500

    A credit of 25% of retrofit costs up to $1,000, plus up to $1,500 for sales tax paid on fortification materials, for your legal residence.
